Ingredients to Make Praline Pecan French Toast Casserole

  • One and half cups half-and-half
  • Eight large eggs
  • Two tablespoons of vanilla extract
  • One tablespoon and three-quarters cups of dark brown sugar
  • Eight pieces of French bread
  • 1/4 cup of unsalted butter, or more if necessary
  • Half a cup of maple syrup
  • ¾ cup of pecans, chopped
  • Confectioners' sugar, two tablespoons, or more to taste

Directions to Make Praline Pecan French Toast Casserole

  • In a large shallow bowl, combine half-and-half, eggs, vanilla, and 1 tablespoon sugar. French bread should be added. Refrigerate the bowl for eight hours or overnight after covering it with plastic wrap.
  • Turn the oven on to 175 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Put butter in a casserole dish that is 9 by 13 inches. Put in the oven and heat it for about five minutes, or until the butter melts. Drizzle butter over the dish's bottom.
  • Over melted butter, spread the remaining 3/4 cup sugar, pecans, and maple syrup. Place the bread that has been soaked on top of the pecan mixture.
  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the top is golden and no longer runny. Just before serving, dust with confectioners' sugar.
